What Makes A Sound Good? Rap Music Sound Selection

Hey everyone,

I haven't posted yet I don't think, mainly just been dealing with life and what not but I am really glad this is finally a platform.

I have not gotten to deep into sound design even though I should have way longer ago, I just haven't been able to maintain discipline.

I have a project for class though and I want to write about sound design in rap music.

What makes a sound high quality over another one, how to find sound designers that are good until you can make/tweak sounds better yourself and possibly some other things about sound selection topics I happen to need for this project and also personal use.
