Hey guys, I've been ramming my head against a wall trying to get a very particular sound in Massive or Primer, and not-having any luck. Basically, I want a staccato string sound (short, fast notes), and ideally, I don't want it to sound too real, as silly as that may sound. I'm making a "fake" orchestra to write some sort of throw-back video game music.
Here are a few links:
I believe this whole game uses soundfonts, and these are probably extremely downsampled actual string samples, but the way this track starts is exactly the sort of thing I'm looking for!
I found someone who made a pretty convincing https://youtu.be/Z7jwVS-hoik?t=38 string sound in Serum, but I wasn't able to replicate it in Massive (and it's a bit too realistic, if I'm being picky, but I know how to muddy things up.)
And then, if it helps, here's a https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t2t_V95FxkA track from Final Fantasy VI that has a vibe I'm going for. I do know that the SNES used very short, low bit samples, but I figured I could get pretty close? Maybe I'm wrong.
Any help at all would be greatly appreciated!

Made a video tut and patch challenge for this one:

The tut covers a variety of string elements, including strings.
