Patch Request: Synthwave Lead

Patch / Preset Recreated

Hi, I'm trying to recreate this sound from a synthwave sample pack I downloaded, but I'm having trouble. Any tips?

If you take away the effects (delay, reverb, etc) it sounds like a pretty simple sound, but for some reason I can't quite get the same formant / vowel sound. Would appreciate help 😀

Try using Ring Mod. This will create that bell-like tone, and at certain pitch settings also create that unsettled pitch wobble. And then use Filter Envelope to create the attack transient. As a starting point:

Oscillators: Both set to Square, but with Osc B's volume set to 0 (since we only want to use it as the modulator). RM turned all the way up, and Osc B set to 2 octaves and 7 semi higher.

Filter: Low Pass 24 dB, using the Filter Envelope with a quick decay to create that nice spike.

Hi Siyan

Can you re-upload your Serum patch, but zip it first?

Still, sounds noticeably different. In particular, the original sounds sharper / has a more intense transient, and I'm not sure how to emulate that.

I've tried using a formant filter and was able to get closer:
