Patch Request: Pink Floyd - Welcome to the Machine (Pad Synth)

Gathering Contributions

Hey everyone,

I am remaking the Intro of "Welcome to the Machine" by Pink Floyd.

So far I took the first 30 seconds of the original and crossfade at rougly 0:32 to my rebuild made with Massive and Monark. The current version is a work-in-progress, the midi-guitar is rather meant for orientation, noise-effects and synth strings from 1:10 ff are still missing.

I am pleased with a couple of things so far, but I have troubles to get the pad synths starting at 0:47 right. There are 3 voices panned to the middle (mainly root-note of the chord, key is E minor), to the left (G all the time) and to the right (low C, high E, F# and B). I used a simple Monark patch with one sawtooth oscillator, a tiny little bit of pitch modulation and an MM-Filter for all of them while riding the cutoff-frequency manually - RC24 Reverb on top. Especially the section until 1:10 is troublesome, because the pads are pretty exposed here, before more sounds come in. The original in comparison sounds a bit richer.

Anyone has an idea what can be improved? I am not sure, if I had the right idea with my Monark patch, or maybe I should rather put something else on top of it...

If you are interested, I attached my patches. But note, I used some additional processing in Cubase.
