I really would like to understand how to create the first bass sound, and also the clap sound in this track. To anyone who is willing to help thank you! I use serum and primer.

In isolation this patch has a very Blade Runner / Stranger Things vibe. It's old school, but in this track it doesn't sound old school. It works. I love that.

How It's Made

  • Synth: Primer
  • Oscillator: Saw
  • Unison: 4 voices, 0 Spread, and pretty heavy Detune (0.2)
  • Filter: Low Pass, low Cutoff a little under Noon, just a little Res. Modulated by...
  • Filter Envelope: Sustain at zero with a long 5000 ms Decay and Release. And just a little Env Amount, about 0.09. Now our sound has an "owww" shape
  • Amp Envelope: Sustain close to zero, at about 0.2. Same Decay and Release settings as Filter Envelope. So we get really long notes, but they get quieter over time giving us a subtle fade, which also emphasizes the attack a little bit
  • Reverb: pretty heavy Mix at about 40%, small Size at about 0.34
