Hello Joe and the Syntorial team (and community!)
I'm a huge Devo fan and would love to recreate some of Mark Mothersbaug genius synth sounds. Commonly, Devo patches have got an amazing raw, wobbly quality - in a Sound on Sound interview, the sounds are described as "abrasive" (in a good way!) and Mark himself described the sounds as being as "subversive" as possible. They weren't afraid of making sounds that might not be pleasant to listen to in isolation, but in the context of the song fits great — which makes it a bit harder for me to dial in a patch when listening!
Could you help me patch up the two synths sounds in their banger 'Big Mess'?
Firstly, the synth line that comes in right at the start. And secondly, the synth sound that comes in for the solo at 1:26:
Thanks so much! I'd also love to work out patches for lots of other Devo masterpieces, but this is a place to start!

Joe, this is absolutely fantastic. Thank you so much! I'm so glad a Devo song inspired a full video. Please do more Devo sounds if you feel so inclined, there are so many amazing patches in their catalogue. I love the detuned leads and basses, it's an amazing palette of sound.
Tried this patch on my Novation Bass Station 2 and got a brilliant result (and had loads of fun). Using the LFO for the filter like this is great; I might try using the repeated envelope feature on the BS2 to achieve a similar sound and play around with it -- freeing up the LFO could take me to some interesting sound design places...
Cheers! Much appreciated.

I thought the intro patch might be of interest to others so I created a complete walkthrough with video. Check it out:
