Demo Syntorial will not work on laptop, works on desktop

Hey everyone,
I tried looking for an answer to this issue on the forum but could not find anything. Essentially what happens is I go to launch the Syntorial demo on my laptop, enter my username, and then the application closes. No idea what is causing this as it runs just fine on my desktop. I'd like to complete the demo before purchasing the full version and I also want to make sure that this isn't going to happen when I purchase the whole version. Things I've tried:

  • Reinstalling Syntorial
  • Running the program in compatibility mode

That's pretty much the extent of it. If it's relevant, I'll include laptop specs below.

Laptop Specs

  • AMD Ryzen 9 6900HS
  • AMD Radeon RX 6800S
  • 16GB RAM
