Can We Sort This Forum by Synth? I Don't Own Serum

Open

I find this forum rather difficult to navigate through. There are no categories or labels (from what I can tell, if this exists please tell me).

It would be helpful to be able to sort posts by synth (Primer, Serum, Massive). It is annoying to find a patch request that interests you only to realize that you can't do it with Primer.

SERUM is a nice synth to invest in. You can actually buy it on Splice Rent to own, you only pay some 10$ a month.

To be fair when the specifics are described you can recreate anything anywhere
it is like having a food recipe and you cant cook because the recipe doesnt include what pan you should use
A recipe isnt about the utensils it is about the ingredients

And if you cannot get a good grip of the ingredients then maybe you should give Syntorial a go as it has helped me greatly to identify which ingredient does what
And when sometimes I cant get a grip of what I want i return to this forum to ask for it

My point is do your research and this forum is as informative as it should be.

I think having a way to sort patch requests by type is a great idea. You can "tag" posts but what we really need is a way to sort by those tags. Will look into it.

Thanks for the response! I see what you mean about your responses not being for any particular synth.

I do think that some labels for organizing posts would be helpful. Such as patch requests and maybe tags like "Bass", "Lead", "Pad", or other similar tags. That way, if I'm looking to browse patch requests specifically for bass sounds, I could do that.

Most of the time, I try to make my responses to patch requests synth-agnostic, so that they can be applied to most synths. Because, while Serum is probably the most-mentioned, some requests reference a different synth or no particular synth at all. So I'm not sure if tagging by synth would work.

That being said, some type of organizational search structure would be a good idea, now that there are a decent amount of topics.
