Patch Request: Anthony Rother - Medium (Bass & String)

Hi Joe,

thanks for your help - I'm getting pretty close following your suggestions. Definitely closer with the bass patch, my version of the pad is lacking some of the airiness of the original.

Try this:

BASS

Oscillator 1

• Waveform: Saw

Oscillator 2

• Waveform: Saw
• Pitch: 1 octave lower
• NOTE: You may have to adjust the phase of one of the oscillators until they combine to create the right sound.

Filter:

• Type: Lowpass
• Slope: 24 dB
• Cutoff: Turn down pretty far, so that's it's a nice round bass sound. This will be modulated in the upcoming Filter Envelope
• Res: Bring it up a bit
• Drive: If available, boost it to add some oomph

Filter Envelope

• Description: A quickly decaying shape.
• Sustain: 0
• Decay/Release: 270 ms
• Mod Amount: Turn it up until it sounds right.
• You'll probably have to go back and forth between Mod Amount, Cutoff and Res to get this right

Amp Envelope

• Description: We just need a little tail
• Release: Around 300 ms.

Voicing

• Mode: Mono

PAD

Oscillator

• Waveform: Saw
• Unisons: Six voices with Detune turned up enough so that it sounds kind-of pitchy, a little out-of-tune. 100% Width

Amp Envelope

• Description: A really long tail
• Release: around 5 seconds.

Voicing

• Mode: Poly
• Number of voices: least 4
